Are your coffees Fair Trade Certified?

 Our coffee vendors proudly place a great amount of emphasis on quality and sustainability, both from an environmental and economic standpoint.

We purchase different numbers of coffees from Fair Trade certified cooperatives; however, many producers decide it’s in their best financial interest to channel their resources toward continued advances in quality and sustainability instead of the expensive process of certification. We like to factor a producer’s efforts toward greater quality as well as environmental and economic responsibility into our purchasing decisions, regardless of their certification status.

Moving forward, it is our intention not only to maintain, but to expand our efforts to search for the best sustainable coffees the world has to offer.

How should I store my coffee?

Coffee Freshness is key for full awesomeness memories. We recommend using coffee within 20 days after it is roasted, we usually roast everyday so you will be getting fresh roasted coffee. Also, in our experience, the distinct and complex flavors that characterize our coffees will tend to have faded after that point.

We recommend storing coffee in a cool, dry place, away from heat and light, in its original packaging, or an airtight container.

The levels of moisture present in the refrigerator and freezer can greatly accelerate flavor loss. We don’t recommend storing beans in the refrigerator and can only recommend storage in the freezer under specific circumstances (namely long term, uninterrupted periods).

Are your coffees Certified Organic?

Our manufacture is USDA Certified Organic by ECOCERT, following all protocols and systems required to maintain this certification.

Over 85% of the coffee we buy is Certified Organic. Most of our blends are Certified Organic.

In our online shop, certifications might be found in the details for each coffee. Also our bags are stamped.

What beans will you be sending? Are they different every time?

We follow the tilt of the Earth and the harvest cycles from all corners of the coffee growing world to seek out the most transcendent and interesting green beans from top producers, roast them to perfection, and deliver them to you at their peak.

What shipping methods are available for coffee?

Coffee is shipped via either USPS First Class, USPS Priority or USPS Priority Express.

First Class and USPS Priority have a stated estimated shipping time of 1-5 days, while USPS Priority Express offers a 1-2 day expedited service.

What is your return policy?

Whole Bean Coffee – Coffee is perishable and our whole beans coffee are 99% roasted to order, so we’re unable to accept returns on coffee. But don’t worry—we’re here to help! If there was an error with your order, please contact us at [email protected] within 30 days of your purchase. If you were dissatisfied with your coffee, our expert Customer Support team will help you track down your soon-to-be favorites.

When will my order ship?

Individual Coffee Orders

Many coffees we offer have a limited set of days during the week on which they roast.

Those item’s product pages will indicate either

  • the next day that particular coffee will ship
  • or an estimated number of days past ordering that the item will ship

Otherwise, for those coffees with a M-F roast schedule, you can expect orders placed via our online shop will roast and ship:

  • the next day if ordered by 1:30 PM EST
  • two days later if ordered after 1:30 PM EST
  • the forthcoming Monday if ordered between 1:30 PM EST Thursday and 1:30 PM EST Sunday

 

Merchandise

Merchandise and brewing equipment orders will take 1-2 business days to process. From there your order will ship with UPS Delivery, USPS Ground or Fedex Delivery both of which estimate 1-5 business days for shipping.

Is shipping included?

When purchasing coffee or merchandise from the website, shipping is figured dynamically, based on weight and destination, and is added at checkout. Standard shipping on website orders over $35 is free.
